writing
I am an experienced theatre writer breaking into Recorded Media with a unique poetic perspective, a passion for storytelling focussing on bold contemporary dynamic LGBTQ+ stories.
I trained as actor, worked extensively as a performance poet and worked in theatre for 18+ years in a variety of roles, honing my craft as a writer/director. My playwriting has been performed across the UK, I have been regularly funded by Creative Scotland for live performance projects, I have been commissioned by Glasgow 2014 Cultural Festival and Brighton International Festival and I am the 2015 recipient of Playwrights’ Studio Scotland New Playwright’s Scheme.
I received a full scholarship for Glasgow Caledonian Univeristy Masters in TV Fiction Writing [2021] and since 2018 I have written many digital productions distributed online.
I am currently working on 10 writing projects in TV, Film and Theatre with companies like Edinburgh International Children’s Festival and Stampede Ventures Los Angeles. All are at various stages of development and funding - more details can be found when clicking through links below.
Capitalising on my experiences during my Masters in TV Fiction Writing [Glasgow Caledonian University 2021] I have a slate of 3 varied projects for TV - a chosen family Glaswegian drama set in a queer book shop [QUAIR PEOPLE), a climate change inspired animation for ages 10+ (ACADEMY OF…) and a black comedy drama about a human trial to artificially create homosexuality (SHARED LEISURE ACTIVITY).

Originally trained on the BA Acting programme at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, theatre is my first love… and I have worked in live performance since 2007. Currently I am developing 4 shows - a large scale intersectional feminist musical about the brave women of Scotland’s Women’s Timber Corps during WW2 [LUMBERJILLS], a show for ages 10+ about a trans tropical fish [SAM THE SWORD], a black comedy 2-hander about workers at the epicentre of global crises [LAMMEGEIER] and an autobiographically inspired 2 act contemporary farce about generational trauma [CAMP DAVID].

From January to March 2024 I had the privilege of participating in CONVERGENCE - a prestigious training programme for writers breaking into the film industry, mentored by David Pope, and supported by Screen Scotland and the BFI. This programme has supported the development of a musical coming of age feature film about a lesbian early 2000s alt-pop starlet INDIGO CAMPBELL, and two shorts NO MILO and YOU’RE PERFECT RIGHT HERE.
